49ers in Surprise, AZ?

The great football team of the eighties, the San Francisco 49ers, are coming to play the Arizona Cardinals in late November of this year, I have not heard whether they will make it to Surprise. But, now that I have your attention, let’s talk about the real 49ers.
Quick history of the 49ers 
It’s 1848 in northern California and a man named John Sutter discovered Gold. Not the black liquid gold that Jed Clampett discovered in Tennessee, but real GOLD. Word spread quickly and by 1849 people from all over the world were flocking to California to strike it rich. The population soared that year, hence the name, the 49ers. Long story short, some got really rich and some did well, but most of the wealth was made catering to the transplants (Levi’s Jeans and Wells Fargo Bank were started during the gold rush). Others did well, but most got a nibble of the gold pie and came out with nothing. A lot lost their life. Are you seeing where this is going……….
Welcome to the new gold rush. Maybe we can call them the 05ers. I am talking about the mad rush of people moving to Arizona to get rich on the real estate market. Think about it and you will see a lot of the similarities. People from all over, putting everything they had into the market to see the windfall of real estate riches. Some succeeded, some did not. I have not read of anyone losing their life, but they are losing their credit worthiness and going bankrupt. Some people are calling me to sell and their reason for going back home is that “Arizona just did not work out”. Owning a home is still the American dream, and still a safe investment.
Arizona will work out….
- Surprise, AZ has tripled in population and I am excited about the potential this city has.
- The market will level off
- real estate is affordable here (yes, folks it is)
- We have every chain known to man to eat or shop at
For those that came during the rush to get rich quick, “congratulations” or “maybe next time”, for those of us that have found a new home…. Welcome Neighbor!!!
